I have experienced #41 a few times directly, so it's not as funny but the picture in that post is pretty cool.

I think you're right about it being not as funny or original, but the pictures are very good. I liked "Car Puja Only" too. Maybe you should have done puja on your car?

Well yes... 'oh well' is not that a great label for the post, is it? :)

The Car Puja one is in Livermore temple. I have seen it myself :D

As for puja on the car... do you know the insider thingy... you go to Sunnyvale temple and say I need to do a car puja. The first thing the pujari asks is "kaunsi car hai?"... coz they have different puja rates for different cars. If its a Honda/Toyota run of the mill car, its lower but if its a Merc or Beamer, its like twice the rate :D

So much for market value :)

Books et. al.

I am reading Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance and loving it. Its online at http://www.design.caltech.edu/Misc/pirsig.html . Though I would suggest that you buy the book. You probably would want to read it twice atleast and it will make a good addition to your collection. It is about a motorcycle trip the author takes through US midwest-north and his musings. Goes into philosophy. I finally also got around to buying Guns, Germs & Steel . It made a good read. It propounds a theory that tries to explain current social and economic differences between countries/civilizations by tracing back their roots to when these civilizations discovered farming, artistry, society, war meachanisms. It is a very interesting read. The only gripe I have is that it kind of glosses over two big civilizations - India, China. Also middle east civilizations. Basically, it deals with smaller and older civilizations and leaves it to the reader to apply those conclusions to the larger ones. Well, o...

Umm... lets see, ... I made a nice cake on Atul's birthday. I know I am saying this on my blog, but all the biased and coerced opinions aside, it really was a decent cake. And wine soaked too... now what more could you ask for? ;) Cake ... I have decided to support Sarah Palin. It doesnt matter a fig whom I support, so why bother my head about the policies and issues? Whoever comes there is going to squeeze us for taxes and kick us for immigration. I'd rather entertain myself for chick value and real gossip while I can. ... I finally got around to buying a world map. Took me ten years to get around to buying it in US (see my shopping skills?). Interesting observation: Iran shares a very long border with Afghanistan.
